JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for direct and indirect supervision of land development personnel. Mentor a team of land development managers, project managers and coordinators in the execution of all aspects of land development functions including land development & planning, procurement, budget control, schedule monitoring, tract acceptance, bond exoneration and SWPPP (Storm Water Prevention).  Ultimately responsible for the departmental performance, results and achievement with respect to the various company land goals.

    8. Scheduling Process
    9. Sense of Community Design and Construction Process
    10. Governmental Relations and
    11. Final Acceptance and Bond Exoneration Process. 
    • Direct supervision of a staff of land development managers in the execution of all technical processes related to land development including:
    • Responsible for conducting a monthly land development staff meeting with land development managers. 
  • Responsible for maintaining the Development Status tracker that is shared with the regional accounting center.  
  • Assist the Land Acquisition team with the completion of feasibility and the preparation of all land packages within contractual deadlines.  This role requires direct interaction with the land acquisition team and the engineering consulting team.  This role requires indirect supervision of analysts in the preparation of all financial and market analyses in support of the land package preparation process. 
  • Meet with SVPs on a regular basis – to update them on the status of land matters – including the New Community meeting, the Land Budget meeting, etc. 
  • Maintain a MUD reimbursement tracker.  Directly responsible for driving the process of securing timely reimbursements of MUD expenditures. 
  • Directly responsible for the HOA process. 
  • Directly responsible for the auditable status of department files. 
  • Will perform other miscellaneous land development duties as assigned by manager.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: BS, MS or ME in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering & Management. PE License preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years experience in a land and/or site development management position or real estate engineering management position
    • Prior residential homebuilding experience required and/or residential engineering experience working with homebuilder or land development clients in managerial capacity.  
    • Prior experience managing a mid to large size team of land professionals
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
    • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite. 
    • Must be strong in the areas of analysis, problem solving, communications, follow-through, and management. 
    • Must be able to read and understand blueprints, grading plans, improvement plans, landscape plans etc.
