JOB SUMMARY:  The studio consultant is the first point of contact for buyers after purchase, and responsible for ensuring their satisfaction throughout the studio selection process and beyond.  This role educates and influences buyers to purchase additional studio options, and then officially enters selections and supporting information into the company database. Consultants help maintain an attractive retail environment and share the responsibility of accurately displaying and labeling options.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Greet buyers in the Studio showroom and conduct initial, additional browse, and final appointments. Share product knowledge with buyers and actually demonstrate product offerings where applicable. Provide exceptional customer service at all times to buyers, vendors and trade partners.
  • In addition to covering standard options, will sell additional options by overcoming sales objections and close the sale with the final goal of creating a satisfied customer.
  • Accurately enters buyer’s options into KB Home’s customized database and completes all necessary paperwork for the file.  Maintains all required sales files. 
  • Works with sales, marketing, operations and studio employees to ensure all options are correctly reflected in the system, including pricing and availability per plan.  Audits database for accurate information on all product offerings. Audits current plans in the various systems for accuracy and availability. Continually reports discrepancies to the appropriate departments.
  • Makes certain the studio environment and studio tools are maintained in excellent condition at all times to ensure an attractive retail space and reports deficiencies to the appropriate supervisors.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certifications/Licenses      
  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • Associates or bachelors degree preferred
  • Retain vocational degree or certificate preferred
Experience 
  • Previous retail experience in customer service oriented environment required
  • 1 to 4 years of retail experience with a homebuilder or similar industry preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to connect with people, and develop and maintain professional relationships
  • Action oriented, with the drive to push sales to successful closure
  • Proven ability of being customer centric by seeking solutions from the customer’s perspective
  • Strong verbal & written communication, with the ability to take complex concepts and communicate succinctly and persuasively
  • Strong ability to work within a team-setting, inclusive of other’s ideas, and a willingness to cooperate
  • Makes quick and accurate decisions based heavily on facts, data and/or metrics. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.  
Work Requirements 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule on a consistent basis, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work an eight (8) hour day with flexibility for overtime when necessary
  • Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner to potential buyers, trade partners, and coworkers to reinforce goodwill and profitability for the company
