JOB SUMMARY:  The Studio Consultant is the first point of contact for buyers after purchase, and responsible for ensuring their satisfaction throughout the studio selection process and beyond.  This role educates and influences buyers to purchase additional studio options, and then officially enters selections and supporting information into the company database. Consultants help maintain an attractive retail environment and share the responsibility of accurately displaying and labeling options.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • CUSTOMER APPPOINTMENTS
    • Greets buyers in the Studio showroom and conducts preview events and final appointments. 
    • In addition to reviewing included options, this role reviews additional choices available to the customer with the goal of helping the customer achieve their design goals with consideration towards both their budget and lifestyle. 
    • Shares product knowledge with buyers and demonstrates product offerings where applicable.  
    • Accurately enters buyer’s selections into a database (via laptop) and completes all necessary paperwork for the file. Will routinely audit paperwork to ensure accuracy.
    • Provides exceptional customer service at all times to customers and vendors/trade partners.
  • PLANNING AND FOLLOW-UP
    • Prepares for buyer appointments by reviewing file, hot sheets and pulling prior appointment samples to ensure appointments run smoothly and effectively.
    • Responds to phone calls, e-mails, and studio related correspondence in a timely manner from buyers, and ensures all correspondence are noted in the buyer’s file. 
    • Responds to phone calls, e-mails, and studio related correspondence  from the operations and sales teams. 
    • Routinely reviews and understands all products and options offered in the Studio, including five features and/or benefits about each option/product offered. 
    • Attends staff or product training when scheduled.
  • STUDIO EXPERIENCE
    • Makes certain the studio environment and studio tools are maintained in excellent condition at all times to ensure an attractive retail space and reports deficiencies to the appropriate supervisors. 
    • Assists in tagging product selections when needed. 
    • Works with sales, marketing, operations and studio employees to ensure all options are correctly reflected in the system and plans. Conitnually reports dicrepencies to the appropriate departments. 
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education/Certifications/Licenses      
    • High school degree or equivalent required
    • Associates or bachelors degree preferred
    • Retain a vocational degree or certificate preferred
  • Experience 
    • Previous retail experience in customer service oriented environment required
    • 1 to 4 years of retail experience with a homebuilder or design industry preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Ability to connect with people, and develop and maintain professional relationships
    • Proven ability of being customer centric by seeking solutions from the customer’s perspective
    • Strong verbal & written communication, with the ability to take complex concepts and communicate succinctly and persuasively
    • Strong ability to work within a team-setting, inclusive of other’s ideas, and a willingness to cooperate
    • Makes quick and accurate decisions based heavily on facts, data and/or metrics. 
    • Demonstrates strong attention to detail, with the ability to self-audit work product.
    • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.  
  • Work Requirements 
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule on a consistent basis, including evenings, weekends and holidays
    • Ability to work an eight (8) hour day with flexibility for overtime when necessary
    • Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner to potential buyers, trade partners, and coworkers to reinforce goodwill and profitability for the company
