JOB SUMMARY: This internship will be working with partners supporting the Plans Manager with coordinating and implementing plan development and changes for all of the division’s communities. This role will also interact with all applicable municipalities dealing with all aspects within the plan approval process. Primary internal customers are: Architecture, Purchasing, Forward Planning Studio, and Sales & Marketing. External customers include: various municipalities, structural and mechanical/plumbing engineers. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordination of house plan submittals/approvals by applicable jurisdictions
  • Collect and collate all plans from architecture and engineers and prepare applications for submittal.  
  • Track typical timeline reviews from jurisdictions and notify manager of delays.
  • Track all correction letters received from jurisdiction and all resubmittals up to approval.  
Quality Control Reviews for Marketing Materials
  • Take ownership of review/correction/ and final approval of all renderings, brochures, interactive floorplans, and color boards provided by corporate architecture to ensure they match what is on the approved architecture plans and meet division spec levels.
  • Perform preliminary reviews, distribute to Plans Manager and marketing for additional comments, collect all comments, return to corporate architecture, and re-review to ensure all comments are addressed prior to finalizing.
  • Ensure all current approved marketing materials are uploaded to the proper files for access by division employees, trade partners, and printing companies as applicable.
  • Applies to all new communities and all revisions processed for each community.
Field Visits & Frame Walks
  • Attend Frame Walks and Fit-n-Finish Walks, taking notes, and distributing notes to supervisor for final approval/distribution. 
Administrative 
  • Maintain weekly meeting notes between division and corporate architecture
  • Maintain digital plan files of architecture plan sets for Studio to ensure most current sets are available for use during appointments
  • Assist with submittals to jurisdictions of field memos & repairs, and maintain log of same. 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exceptional organizational capability, including the ability to multi-task
  • Strong people skills, including the capability to handle various personalities and develop professional relationships
  • Action oriented, with the drive to push projects and tasks to successful closure
  • Strong verbal & written communication, with the ability to take complex concepts and communicate accurately and persuasively
  • Strong ability to work within a team-setting, inclusive of other’s ideas, and a willingness to cooperate
  • Makes quick and accurate decisions based heavily on facts, data and/or metrics
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.  
Work Requirements 
  • Work maximum of 30 hours per week.
  • Flexible schedule Monday – Friday during business hours
  • Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner to potential buyers, trade partners, and coworkers to reinforce goodwill and profitability for the company
