PROGRAM SUMMARY: The Division Rotational Internship Program is intended to have participants develop an understanding of the various business functions within KB Home, particularly in its field operations and divisions. The participant will learn under leadership and members in each of the below listed departments and will be required to take online training courses while concurrently learning applicable on the job skills and competencies. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Land Acquisition
  • Shadow Land Acquisition staff and attend scheduled meetings 
  • Develop understanding of KB market research methods and basic skills for online market research 
  • Learn strategies and processes for developing Land Acquisition sources for land leads
  • Review Ant Tracks and help craft LOI for new land acquisition
  • Develop understanding of land financing strategies, feasibility study elements, and managing collection of components of a land package
  • Learn how to access and assess state, federal, and local municipality regulation and interpret potential impacts
  • Assist in preparing documents for land books
Land Development & Forward Planning
  • Shadow Land Development and Forward Planning staff and attend scheduled meetings
  • Develop understanding of laying out an upcoming land project’s development plan
  • Observe and develop understanding of project development and sub-contracting negotiation
  • Attend and observe interactions with municipalities, public & private agencies, zoning, planning departments, etc. to understand land development facilitation process and entitlement projects
  • Develop understanding of process of projecting and calendaring multiple division projects to meet business goals
  • Assist in assigned land development projects
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certifications/Licenses      
  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • Currently in-program or having just graduated with a degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Sales/Marketing, Finance, Architecture, or other industry-related discipline
Experience 
  • Experience in a Real Estate or Construction firm is a plus
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills 
  • High attention to detail and highly organized
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong critical thinking capabilities to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • An independent self-starter and willingness to learn
  • Proven ability in being proactive and results-oriented 
  • Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office suite
Work Requirements 
  • 8-hour work days with flexibility to work overtime when needed due to special projects or events 
  • Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner to potential buyers, trade partners, and coworkers to reinforce goodwill and profitability for the company
  • Position is onsite and based in our Bellevue Division Office (320 120th Ave N.E., Bellevue, WA 98005) #LI-onsite
Compensation
  • $15-20/hour
